Kimberly L. Mitchell
Kimberly Mitchell is a writer, workshop leader and speaker with a focus on deeper learning and inquiry-based teaching practices.
She teaches at the University of Washington's College of Education and recently served as Board Chair for the International Baccalaureate Americas Regional Council.
Kimberly helped launch the INSPIRE Center (Innovations in System-wide Professional Improvement and Redesigns in Education at the university) and serves as Co-Chair of the Ambassadors Board at the University of Washington College of Education.
Kimberly was a Director for Teach For All in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and an Elementary Principal at American Community School in Athens, Greece, where she launched the International Baccalaureate PYP program. She has been an administrator and teacher in public schools in Seattle, WA, Quito, Ecuador and Compton and East Los Angeles, CA.
Kimberly is married to a middle school teacher and has two school-aged children.
